New York Fashion Week Wrapping Up the Fall 2010 Collections

Yesterday, for example, Michael Kors, one of the most influential visionaries when it comes to American sportswear, weighed in on how to achieve the right blend of chic, elegance and street smart savvy. It’s no accident that his finale was to the ’70s classic “Native New Yorker” (and yes we know there were guys in the show and the song talks about being a New York City girl).

But it was fitting because Kors’ Fall 2010 collection was all about creating that street smart, effortless, polished look that women want. The color palette was a bit muted as we’ve seen during the entire run of Fashion Week. But the luxury was all there – from the decadent furs (a fur anorak!), to the fitted Chesterfield coats with slashes at the elbows to allow the wearer some mobility, to the deceptively simple looking sweaters and dresses cut down to there http://www.nj.com
